Video Tutorial 4 – Arinoid – Ball Physics
At last, video tutorial 4 is here! I would like to apologize for the terrible delay, and thank you so much for your patience! 🙂
You may notice some mistakes in the screenshots though – in particular when the code that converts between integers and floating point numbers is displayed. The highlighted code is correct, but the way that it appears in the following slides (without the float and int conversions) is incorrect.
The transcript for this will be available shortly, and the fifth video tutorial is in the works. Thank you so much, especially to all those who have left comments of encouragement! They really keep me going :). I hope you find these helpful!

Nice screencasts Chuck! I’m working on a 2D side scrolling tile-map based pygame engine so these are a perfect fit.
Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Pol! I’m looking forward to seeing your game engine, because I really like 2D platform games and I would like to eventually try making one in the future, definitely with help from someone who’s good at drawing because I’m not very good at art :). Good luck!

Hi,
just wanted to say that your screencasts are awesome and should be part of the standart documentation for pygame. I hope you will continue the screencasts at some point in the future.

Thank you, and I’m glad that you found the video tutorials useful :). Yes, I’m currently working on the fifth one, and I really hope to finish it soon.

These are excellent screencasts. They’re simple, clear and to the point.
I’m looking forward to the next one.

The best step by step screencasts I’ve seen! Good pacing and detailed explanations. I’ve been wanting to start a homebrew game club with co-workers (we’re all artists) at the video game company I work at and have been trying to decide between XNA game studio and python/pygame. This will make it easier for them to enter the world of programming for sure. Thanks

Thanks for all your hard work. I hope you can find the time to finish this, but even if you don’t the screencasts are awesome and an excellent introduction to creating a game using pygame/python.
Can I has more plz? 😉
